RHINOPLASTY

Rhinoplasty, i.e. rhinoplasty, is a surgical procedure performed to correct or change the shape and size of the nose.

Together with our specialist Doctors, we offer carefully designed rhinoplasty services to our patients to achieve a natural and harmonious appearance.
Rhinoplasty is performed in two different techniques, open and closed.

Why Rhinoplasty
Since the nose is an important feature of the face, you may want to have a rhinoplasty due to aesthetic concerns or breathing problems. Some common causes are:

Nose Shape: If the shape or size of your nose does not match your face or has an uncomfortable appearance, these problems can be corrected with rhinoplasty.

Nasal Asymmetry: If there is a congenital or post-traumatic asymmetry in your nose, this asymmetry is corrected with rhinoplasty.
Respiratory Problems: If you have difficulty breathing due to curvature of the nasal septum or other structural problems, respiratory problems can be resolved with rhinoplasty.

Preparation Before Aesthetic Nose Surgery
– Some drugs may interact with anesthesia or side effects may occur with surgery. Be sure to inform your doctor about all the medications you are using. In particular, aspirin and derivative drugs should be discontinued one week before rhinoplasty surgery. There is no problem for women to have this surgery while menstruating.
– Smoking negatively affects wound healing. For this reason, it is recommended to leave it as early as possible before surgery and not to use it after surgery.
– Contact your doctor if you feel a cold or sore throat before surgery.
– Come to the hospital with comfortable clothes on the day of surgery. Do not wear makeup. Leave your jewelry at home (wedding ring, necklace).
– Take a warm shower at night before surgery, do not use hairspray, jelly.
– If the operation is before noon, nothing should be eaten or drunk after 24 at night. If it is in the afternoon, a light breakfast can be had taking into account the 6-hour fasting period.
– Admission to the hospital two hours before the operation time is necessary to perform the necessary examinations(laboratory and imaging) and anesthesia is necessary for evaluation by your doctor. You will need a companion for 1 day after the operation.
I recommend that you do not take foods that contain salicylic acid and have an aspirin-like effect, such as almonds, fresh and raisins, apples, apricots, cherries, peaches, plums, tomatoes and cucumbers, if possible, shortly before rhinoplasty surgery. Because these foods can rarely increase bleeding.

Care After Rhinoplasty Surgery
• The head should lie in an elevated position (two pillows) while sleeping and resting for 4 days after rhinoplasty surgery.
* Applying ice to the eye area at December 15 for at least two days will reduce the bruises and swellings that will occur on your face. The plaster should be protected during ice application.
• Although there was not much swelling and bruising immediately after the operation, the following 2. and 3. swelling and bruising may increase during the days. Don’t worry about it. After that, your complaints will decrease quickly.
* Pain after rhinoplasty (Rhinoplasty surgery) is not a very common complaint. If you have pain, you can take the painkiller prescribed to you every 3 hours. If you do not have pain, do not use painkillers.
• If a nasal tampon is used, there may be cold-like complaints related to the tampon. This complaint will pass after your tampon is taken.
* The tampon can stay in the nose for 1 – 3 days. Taking a tampon is a painless procedure. Nutrition after surgery should be as described below;
* avoid solid, dry and hot foods for 4 days.
* Choose warm or cold foods that are juicy, soft, do not require much chewing movement.
* Avoid excessive facial expressions (such as straining, laughing, crying, shouting, yawning) for the first 4 days.
• You may have a bloody oozing discharge from the nose for two to four days. You can delete the leak in the time, time touch style. Do not force when wiping, do not push.
* Avoid blowing and sneezing for three weeks.
• You can take a warm shower on the second day after surgery. Your cast may get wet because it is special.
• For the first four days, the inside of the nose can be cleaned by soaking the cotton part of the ear cleaning garbage in oxygenated water 3 – 4 times a day to prevent crusting that will occur in the nostrils. Do not insert more than the cotton part into the nose.
* Avoid excessive physical activity (swimming, aerobics, jogging, cycling, etc.) for three weeks.
* Protect your nose from impact for six weeks.
• Do not wear glasses for the first 4 weeks. After surgery, your nasal skin is sensitive to sunlight. Therefore, protect your nose from the sun for 8 weeks (solarium, sunbathing). When it is necessary to stay in the sun for a long time, creams containing sun protective factor (SPF-28) can be used.
